People’s stories, experiences, and histories are brought forth, and they help to save and celebrate human qualities that are the lifeblood of community. Stories help build connections between people, provide ways to share knowledge, strengthen civic networks, and provide the tools to rebuild communities by creating and maintaining the social infrastructure, the social capital, which is essential in democratic community-based development. – Helen Lewis
